Marsha Bradfield works at the crossroads of intercultural practices, contextual studies and cultural production. She is currently exploring the incidental person through creative practice research. Following the Artist Placement Group, the incidental person is productively adjunct to a context, as can be the case when an artist is placed in industry.

This practice of incidentality exemplifies Bradfield’s long-term interest in interdependence, which refers to the concept and experience of being in relationship. The significance of this research lies in the understanding that everything is interconnected, allowing us to comprehend complexity and contingency better, recognize new conditions of possibility, and create multidimensional and inclusive value. Since 2016, Bradfield has been co-convening Incidental Unit, the third iteration of Artist Placement Group. She is also an award-winning educator at University of the Arts London.
